Dance Description
Every spring bright white, light pink sakura (cherry blossoms) bloom for a very short while all over Japan, soon to be blown away and replaced with fresh green leaves. This first sign of spring is celebrated extensively in every park, as soon as the weather allows, by day and by night.
The song ‘Sakura’ is very traditional, however the interpretations used are a new takes on it.
The dance is a play of the fragile blossom leaves swaying on their branches and being blown about, amazed viewer stunned by their beauty. It is choreographed as feather light but accurate and beautiful, using elements from ballet, modern dance as well as classical japanese kabuki dance.

Lighting General Concept
Beautiful and featherlight in white-pink and fresh green'
Cyc: gradual change over the song from a very light pink (close to white) to a springy green (but still close to white). If possible a subtle white cloud (e.g. ROSCO 79501 or 78229) stage right above the dancers. If available a subtle pink cherry blossom or a breakup with a linear glass gobo would be nice.
Stage Top/Sides: a cherry blossom breakup (e.g. ROSCO 77774) from various directions giving an image of being underneath the tree, in the colors of the horizon plus a warmer sun-like tone. Assisted by strong sides/shin busters in halogen bulb 'white'.
front: only if required, due to reflection to the horizon.
Specials, see below.
